Due to CUPE 1656 Local strike action, you may experience traffic delays entering the airport property at Airport Road and Fountain Street North. To improve safety and reduce traffic congestion, travellers and visitors to the airport are asked to access the main entrance via the roundabout at Fairway Road North and Kossuth Road.
The following detour will remain in place for the duration of the CUPE Local 1656 strike:
SOUTHBOUND:
- Vehicles travelling southbound on Fountain Street North (from Breslau and points beyond) will be redirected to the roundabout at Fairway Road North and Kossuth Road, then back to the YKF main entrance, to turn right onto Airport Road.
- Traffic signage is in place to guide drivers.
NORTHBOUND:
- Vehicles travelling northbound on Fountain Street North (from Cambridge and points beyond) will not be impacted.
While we do not anticipate flight delays, please plan ahead:
- Check your flight status with your airline before heading out
- Make sure you follow the recommended arrival times provided by your airline and allow extra time for any traffic delays.
